Soil Scientist

Tea Research Association (TRA), Tocklai Experimental Station, Jorhat, Assam intends to recruit a frontline researcher in its Production Division.

Qualifications
Essential: Ph.D. in the discipline of Soil Physics/Soil Chemistry/Water management/Natural Resource management/Soil & Water Engineering/Soil hydrology/Environmental Sciences

Desirable: Candidates with adequate expertise in GIS/simulation modeling will be preferred. The incumbent should be highly conversant with computers, statistical packages and internet/list-serves with best communication and interpersonal skills. Should be willing to travel both within and outside the country and possess exceptionally high leadership qualities.

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in the subject field as evidenced by publication record in peer reviewed journals. Candidates with experience in tea/plantation crops/horticultural crops/agro-forestry will be preferred.

Compensation package: scale of pay 12000-375-16500. The total emoluments at the start of scale will be around Rs.27,000.TRA provides an on-campus furnished housing, medical facilities and CPF package. For exceptionally good candidates additional facilities and a pay protection may be negotiable based on the previous employment record and experience.

The successful candidate will be on probation for the first year.

Assistant Agronomist

Qualifications
Essential: M.Sc/Ph.D. in the discipline of Agronomy/Horticulture/Agro-Forestry/Tea Husbandry and Technology/Environmental Sciences.

Head, Plant Protection

Tea Research Association (TRA), Tocklai Experimental Station, Jorhat, Assam intends to recruit a Head, Plant Protection Division.

Qualifications
Essential: Ph.D. in Entomology/Plant Pathology.

Desirable: Candidates with expertise in biological control, insect population dynamics. The candidates should have exceptionally good communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to provide leadership to researchers and senior scientists.

Experience: Minimum 15 years of Post doctoral experience in the subject field as evidenced by publication record in peer reviewed journals. Candidates with experience in tea/plantation crop/horticultural crop/agroforestry will be preferred.

Compensation package: Scale of pay 16400-450-20000/-. The total emoluments at the start of scale will be around Rs.36,000/-. TRA provides an on-campus furnished housing, medical facilities and CPF package. For exceptionally good candidates additional facilities may be provided which are negotiable.

Asstt. Entomologist

Qualifications
Essential: Ph.D. in Entomology/Life Science/Zoology. Ph.D thesis must demonstrate research in Entomology in case of those obtaining degree in Life science or Zoology.

Desirable: Candidates must have adequate knowledge on biological control, insect dynamics. The incumbent should be highly conversant with computers and should be willing to travel to remote areas.
