The objective of this department is to develop a package of practices for effective and economic control of major pests and diseases of tea crop in North East India. The department puts ample emphasis on bio-control strategies for pests and diseases using microbial bioagents, natural predators, parasitoids and pheromones as components of integrated pest management with an aim to reduce pesticide residues.
