The department has the objective to develop environmentally sound soil management practices for sustained productivity and to provide analytical service to member estates. The thrust areas of research are integrated nutrient management and its various components, improving soil physical conditions and rehabilitation, which will improve soil health. Another area being pursued is the studies on eco-toxicology. The department is well equipped with sophisticated equipment and offers its analytical services to the TRA members.
